Recreational Facilities

Spread across 46.6 acres, Allan Witt Park offers a wide variety of recreational facilities with activities for all ages and interests. You'll find the main entrance at the corner of West Texas Street and 5th Street - can't miss it!

A major highlight is the Fairfield Sports Center with its large aquatics complex. The aquatics facility features a natatorium with a retractable roof, meaning you can enjoy a swim regardless of season or weather. Pretty cool, right?

Water Activities

The aquatics area doesn't stop there - it includes a zero-depth entry play area (perfect for the little ones), a lazy river current where you can float away your stress or get in some low-impact exercise, and a six-lane activity pool complete with a slide and diving board.

The water park features are an especially great attraction, with sprinklers and waterslides that offer sweet relief during those scorching California days. There are lounge chairs and sitting areas throughout where you can rest between activities.

Sports Amenities

If dry-land activities are more your thing, the park includes multiple baseball fields, softball fields, little league fields, tennis courts, and basketball courts.

There are four softball fields scattered within the grounds, and fields 1 and 2 come with lights for those evening games. Looking for a more serious baseball setup? Allan Witt Baseball Field #5, tucked away on the back side of the park off Woolner Street, offers a full-sized, fenced field with proper bleachers.

A newer addition is the set of sixteen dedicated pickleball courts with lights - one of the larger public pickleball facilities in the area. When the weather turns, head inside to the basketball gym for some indoor action.

Additional Attractions

Skateboarders haven't been forgotten - the City of Fairfield Rotary Skate Park provides a dedicated space for tricks and skills. For the younger crowd, several playgrounds are scattered across the park, giving kids of all ages room to climb, slide, and burn off energy.

Just across the street, you'll find the popular dog park that's thoughtfully divided between large and small dog areas. It's fully fenced for safety and even includes water fountains specially designed for our four-legged friends - no more sharing your water bottle with Fido!

Community Spaces

The park functions well as a gathering spot with its grassy areas, numerous picnic spots (which you can reserve for events), and barbecue facilities.

The open layout is suitable for family reunions or community get-togethers. There's space for children to play on the open fields, while adults can use the shaded picnic areas.

All year long, the park comes alive with community events - from concerts on the baseball field to food truck gatherings. On Sundays, a local church extends community spirit by organizing meals in the park.

Park Maintenance

Allan Witt Park maintains a clean, well-kept appearance, with ongoing improvements that show the community's investment in this space. Recent renovations have spruced up various sections, particularly around the dog park.

For the environmentally conscious, there are EV charging stations available for electric vehicles. Note that restroom availability can sometimes be hit or miss, as facilities occasionally close for maintenance - something to keep in mind when planning longer visits.
