Play & Fun

Situated in Irvine's Northwood community, Brywood Park has a playground where children can play. The play area features a climbing net, rope bridge, and even a boulder for climbing that our little adventurers always make a beeline for. The monkey bars and rockwall provide just enough challenge to keep older children engaged, while the adorable airplane spring rider is ideal for the tiny tots.

While the playground isn't completely covered, the small shade sails do offer some respite from the California sun. You'll come across a nice selection of swings including baby bucket swings for the little ones, regular kid swings, and a tire swing that's always a hit. We appreciate that the play area has that squishy rubber surface underneath - peace of mind when inevitable tumbles happen!

Get Active

If you're looking to burn some energy, the park offers several sports options. There's a baseball/softball field where local teams often practice, and a generous open grass area that works well for impromptu soccer games.

Fair warning: parts of the field have some uneven spots, so watch your footing during those intense games! Despite this minor issue, the well-kept landscaping creates a lovely backdrop - ideal for those Instagram-worthy outdoor shots without trying too hard.

Picnic Paradise

The park's distinctive hexagonal covered picnic shelter provides a nice spot to enjoy a meal. It comes equipped with tables and BBQ facilities, plus there's an outdoor sink nearby - super handy for washing up before eating.

If you prefer spreading out on the grass, additional picnic tables and BBQs are scattered throughout the park. The picnic areas operate on a first-come, first-serve basis for groups under 50 people. Just remember: no alcohol allowed, and outside vendors aren't permitted in the park.

Helpful Extras

Brywood doesn't skimp on the practical amenities. Water fountains are strategically placed around the grounds, with options for both people and pets (because our four-legged friends get thirsty too!). Dog owners will appreciate the pet waste bag dispensers - making it easy to clean up after your furry companions in the designated dog-friendly area.

The park's restrooms are clean and clearly marked, which is always a relief when you're out with kids.

Finding Your Way

You can find Brywood Park right next to Brywood Elementary School in Irvine's Northwood neighborhood. There's plenty of street parking available, making it accessible whether you're a local or coming from elsewhere in Irvine. The park welcomes visitors daily from 6AM to 10PM, giving you plenty of time to enjoy all it has to offer.
