Park Overview

Located in Broken Arrow, Haskell Park stretches across a comfortable 3.5 acres, giving you plenty of room to spread out whether you're looking to get active or just chill for a while. The well-kept green spaces make a fantastic spot to toss down a blanket for a picnic, catch up on that book you've been meaning to finish, or engage in an impromptu game of frisbee.

Across the park, you can find paved walking paths that meander through the grounds - meant for those morning walks to clear your head or an evening stroll to wind down after work. Lots of locals make these paths part of their daily exercise routine.

What really gives Haskell its charm is the neighborhood vibe, with plenty of trees providing welcome shade and a small creek that trickles through the back area, adding that peaceful sound of running water to your park experience.

Recreation Facilities

Kids will make a beeline for the playground area, which has something for little ones of all ages. The equipment roster includes classic swings, exciting slides (both the straight-down and twisty variety), challenging monkey bars, a balance beam for the nimble-footed, and a tire swing that's usually the site of much laughter and negotiation over whose turn is next.

Parents, you'll find comfortable seating areas near the playground where you can keep an eye on the kids while maybe sneaking in a few minutes with your phone. One big plus: the playground sits under a good amount of tree coverage, so it doesn't turn into a scorching hot zone during summer days.

When temperatures climb, the splash pad becomes the park's hottest (or rather, coolest) attraction. Kids love running through the water jets and getting thoroughly soaked - it's a refreshing way to beat the Oklahoma heat. The splash pad typically runs from late spring into early fall, weather permitting.

Note that there's currently no bridge connecting the playground to the splash pad area, so you'll need to walk around to access both - something to keep in mind if you're juggling multiple kids wanting to do different activities.

Got a basketball itch that needs scratching? The park's basketball courts are well-maintained and ready for your pickup game or solo practice session. You'll often find a mix of casual players shooting hoops throughout the day.

Beyond the courts, there's plenty of open grassy space that's excellent for kicking a soccer ball around, playing catch, or organizing an old-school game of kickball with friends.

Picnic Facilities

If you're getting hungry, Haskell offers several places to eat. A shaded gazebo with tables makes for a great spot to enjoy a family meal or small gathering. Trash cans are available, but they're somewhat limited in number, so you might want to bring a small bag for your refuse to help keep this communal area looking its best.

One of Haskell's best features is its mature trees that create patches of cool shade - absolute gold on those hot summer days. These shady spots quickly become prime real estate for readers, picnickers, and anyone looking to enjoy the outdoors without melting.

You'll also appreciate the benches placed at intervals throughout the park - great for catching your breath, people-watching, or just sitting a spell to enjoy the surroundings.

Additional Information

The park is open from 7AM to 11PM daily. You should know there are no public restrooms on the grounds, so plan accordingly. Four-legged family members are welcome to join you, but make sure they stay leashed throughout your visit.
