About the Location

Park Features

Located in northeast Bend's Petrosa subdivision, Fieldstone Park is a fresh addition to the neighborhood. This 5-acre site, completed in 2024, represents a welcoming green space for the growing community in this expanding urban area.

The park blends recreation and nature in a thoughtful layout. You'll discover spacious lawn areas excellent for frisbee games or picnics, dedicated picnic spots for family gatherings, and a playground topped with shade sails to keep the summer sun at bay. Just a heads-up for parents of little ones: while there are a few baby swings, most of the playground equipment caters to older children.

Historical Significance

There's a story behind the park's name that connects to this land's farming past. Before becoming a park, this area was used for growing hay and raising black angus cattle. Farmers would clear rocks from the soil, piling them into central locations - creating fieldstone piles. These naturally occurring stones found at or near the earth's surface gave the park its fitting name.

Natural Surroundings

Gently winding trails with soft surfaces meander through preserved natural areas, letting you immerse yourself in the local ecosystem.

One of the highlights here is the mountain views that showcase Central Oregon's impressive landscape.

Recreation & Connectivity

Cycling enthusiasts will appreciate the park's bike skills area - a curvy dirt track complete with small jumps and berms that adds a fun dimension to the park while encouraging active transportation around the neighborhood.

In the future, a trail from the park will connect to the North Unit Canal Trail, which will eventually stretch approximately 2.5 miles from Petrosa to Boyd Acres Road near US Highway 97.

This connection will link Fieldstone Park with other recreational spaces in Bend, including Pine Nursery Park and Canal Row Park, creating an integrated trail network throughout the city.

Community Planning

Fieldstone Park was established ahead of residential construction in the area, integrating green space into the neighborhood's early development.

With its open design, the park provides plenty of room for community gatherings and activities as the surrounding Petrosa subdivision continues to grow and take shape.
