Harrison Park

Harrison Park is a 6.55-acre public park located in the Oakwood Place neighborhood of Birmingham's West End community. Situated along railroad tracks, it offers visitors a unique opportunity for train-watching.

The park features recreational facilities for community members of all ages. It serves as a venue for various events, including the annual home demonstration show staged by the West End Civitan Club.

Harrison Park Recreation Center, located within the park, is one of 21 recreation centers managed by the City of Birmingham. These centers offer programs and activities for all ability levels in arts, co-ed recreation, and sports.

The park's location in the Arlington-West End area, which is recognized as the oldest of Birmingham's 99 neighborhoods, adds historical significance to its presence. This area dates back to the mid-19th century, predating Birmingham's official recognition as a city.
