Kaulton Field

Kaulton Field is a public park located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The park has recently undergone significant renovations as part of the city's efforts to improve recreational spaces for residents. In October 2024, the City of Tuscaloosa held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the completion of these improvements.

The park's history dates back to 1972 when it first became part of the City of Tuscaloosa's park system. For over 50 years, Kaulton Field remained largely unchanged until the recent renovation project.

The upgrades to Kaulton Field include the addition of new facilities and enhancement of existing features. A new pavilion with restrooms has been constructed, providing visitors with a comfortable gathering space and necessary amenities. The park now boasts a new playground, offering children a safe and enjoyable area for outdoor play.

To improve safety and extend usability hours, the park has received upgrades to its lighting system. Enhanced security measures have also been implemented to ensure a safe environment for all visitors.

Kaulton Field is situated in an area that holds historical significance. The park's name reflects its location in the former town of Kaulton, which was founded in 1912 as a lumber mill town. Although the town no longer exists as a separate entity, having been incorporated into Tuscaloosa, the name Kaulton continues to be used for the area, including this park.
