Brown's Point Park

Brown's Point Park is a small public park located in the Government Hill neighborhood of Anchorage, Alaska. Situated on a bluff overlooking the Cook Inlet, the park offers panoramic views of the surrounding area, including downtown Anchorage, the Port of Alaska, and the Chugach Mountains.

The park was named in honor of Jack and Nellie Brown, who were among the earliest residents of the Government Hill area, arriving in 1915. It was dedicated to them in 1960, recognizing their contributions to the community.

One of the park's notable features is a totem pole that was constructed by local schoolchildren. This totem pole stands as a centerpiece, adding cultural and historical significance to the park.

Brown's Point Park serves as a quiet retreat for local residents and visitors alike. Its location at the western edge of Government Hill provides an excellent vantage point for watching ships enter and leave the Port of Alaska, as well as observing the scenic beauty of the Cook Inlet and surrounding mountains.
