Russian Jack Springs Park South is a public park located in Anchorage, Alaska. It is part of the larger Russian Jack Springs Park, which covers approximately 300 acres. The park is named after Jacob "Russian Jack" Marunenko, a Russian immigrant who homesteaded the area in the early 1930s.
The southern section of Russian Jack Springs Park features a variety of recreational facilities and natural areas. It is bisected by DeBarr Road, which divides the park into northern and southern portions. The southern part of the park includes several sports fields and courts, as well as walking and biking trails.
One of the notable features of the southern section is the Mann Leiser Memorial Greenhouse, which houses tropical plants and serves as a warm respite during colder months. The park also contains a portion of the Middle Fork of Chester Creek, which runs through the area and provides a natural water feature.
