Veterans Oasis Park

Veterans Oasis Park is a 113-acre public park located in southeast Chandler, Arizona. Opened in 2008, the park serves multiple functions as a recreational area, wildlife habitat, and water management facility. The centerpiece of the park is a 5-acre lake that is regularly stocked with fish as part of Arizona's Urban Fishing Program, offering visitors opportunities for fishing and wildlife observation.

The park features over 4.5 miles of hiking and equestrian trails that wind through desert landscapes, allowing visitors to explore the native Sonoran Desert flora and fauna. Birdwatchers can enjoy observing a variety of species, with over 150 bird species documented in the park. The park's design incorporates 78 acres dedicated to groundwater recharge and wetlands, supporting a diverse ecosystem.

Veterans Oasis Park includes an Environmental Education Center that offers educational programs, workshops, and exhibits on topics such as desert ecology, conservation, and sustainable living. The center also hosts community events and activities throughout the year, including guided nature walks, astronomy nights, and seasonal celebrations.

The park honors military veterans with a memorial called the Field of Honor, located in the southwest corner of the park. This space provides a peaceful area for reflection and appreciation of veterans' service.

Visitors can enjoy various recreational activities at the park, including picnicking, wildlife viewing, and photography. The park's amenities cater to families, with a playground area for children and covered ramadas available for gatherings. The park is open daily from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., offering ample opportunity for visitors to enjoy its natural beauty and recreational facilities.
