Monterey Park

Monterey Park is a 21-acre public recreational space located in Mesa, Arizona. The park features a diverse range of facilities catering to various age groups and interests. One of its main attractions is a newly installed playground that is both shaded and lighted, providing a safe and comfortable environment for children to play throughout the day.

The park boasts multiple sports facilities, including baseball fields, basketball courts, and volleyball courts. The Cubs Fields at Monterey Park, presented by the Mesa Hohokams, include Ryne Sandberg Field (Field #1), which is suitable for organized sports activities. Nature enthusiasts will appreciate the presence of what has been measured as the largest Sweet Acacia in Arizona on record within the park. This tree has been awarded a 'Magnificent Tree' designation in December 2022 as part of Arizona's Magnificent Trees Program, which recognizes exceptional trees in the state.

Additionally, Monterey Park houses the Mesa Express Library, a unique self-service library facility that uses Expanded Access technology, allowing patrons to access the library using their library barcode and PIN.

For visitors' convenience, the park includes ramadas, which can be reserved for gatherings or events. The park is open from sunrise to 10 PM or as posted, providing ample time for community members to enjoy its facilities.
