Signal Butte Park

Signal Butte Park is a modern recreational area located in Mesa, Arizona. Opened in January 2020, this 76.7-acre park offers a unique and engaging outdoor experience for visitors of all ages.

The park's centerpiece is its innovative playground, which features a geometric playscape designed by Landscape Structures Inc. This playground includes the Hedra and Hedra Towers for children aged 5 to 12, as well as the Hedra Scout for toddlers and preschoolers. The play structures are interconnected, forming a three-dimensional matrix that encourages imaginative play and physical activity. The playground's design has led some children to nickname it the "spaceship park" due to its futuristic appearance.

For those seeking exercise, Signal Butte Park provides a 1.5-mile lighted asphalt walking path that loops around the park's perimeter. This path is suitable for walking, jogging, and biking, offering visitors a convenient way to stay active.

The park also includes a splash pad, which operates from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, providing a refreshing spot for children to cool off during hot Arizona days. Additionally, there are several ramadas available for picnics and gatherings, some of which can be reserved in advance.

Visitors should note that the park is home to some wildlife, including javelinas and coyotes, particularly in the desert areas. Park-goers are advised to exercise caution, especially with leashed pets and young children.

The west trail and ramada 3 are closed for expansion of the Signal Butte Water Treatment Plant. This closure is expected to last until early 2026.
