Paloma Community Park

Paloma Community Park, located in Peoria, Arizona, is a sprawling 85-acre recreational space that opened to the public on October 3, 2020. The park serves as the city's third community park, addressing the growing demand for larger outdoor spaces north of Bell Road.

The park was developed in two phases, with the first phase occupying 85 acres and the second phase planned to add an additional 35 acres, bringing the total area to 120 acres upon completion. The initial construction of the park began in 2018, following years of planning that started in 2014.

Paloma Community Park features a diverse range of amenities designed to cater to various interests and age groups. One of the park's central attractions is a fishing lake, which is part of the Arizona Game and Fish Department's Community Fishing Program. The park also boasts a ball field complex with lighted fields for baseball and softball, as well as multipurpose fields for activities like soccer and frisbee.

Accessibility and inclusivity were key considerations in the park's design. The playground area includes equipment suitable for children of different abilities, including those with special needs. There are communication boards to assist those who have difficulty communicating verbally.

The park operates daily from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., although hours may vary on holidays. With 712 parking spaces, Paloma Community Park can accommodate a large number of visitors.

Future plans for the park include additional amenities such as a skate/rollerblade/bike court, an equestrian trailhead, sand volleyball courts, sport courts, a dedicated drone zone, and connections to nearby hiking trails.
