Izay worked for the Park, Recreation and Community Services Department for over 28 years, with his last 21 years serving as Department Director.

One notable feature is the Lockheed F-104D-15-LO Starfighter jet monument, which was placed in the park in 1984 to honor Lockheed Corporation, a longtime employer in Burbank.
