George Izay Park

George Izay Park is a 15-acre public park located on W. Olive Avenue in Burbank, California. The park was dedicated and renamed after George Izay on September 25, 1984. Izay worked for the Park, Recreation and Community Services Department for over 28 years, with his last 21 years serving as Department Director.

The park features multiple recreational facilities and amenities for visitors to enjoy. It includes several sports fields and courts, playground equipment, and picnic areas. One notable feature is the Lockheed F-104D-15-LO Starfighter jet monument, which was placed in the park in 1984 to honor Lockheed Corporation, a longtime employer in Burbank.

George Izay Park is home to the Olive Recreation Center, which provides additional indoor facilities for community use. The park is open from sunrise to sunset, as mandated by Burbank Municipal Code.
