Poinsettia Community Park is a 42-acre public park located in Carlsbad, California. The park offers a wide range of recreational facilities and amenities for visitors of all ages. It is known for having the largest public tennis complex in the city, featuring 10 lighted tennis courts.
In addition to tennis, the park boasts six lighted pickleball courts, which have become increasingly popular among residents. The park also includes three baseball/softball fields and a turf multi-sport arena field, providing ample space for various team sports and activities.
For basketball enthusiasts, there is a full-court basketball court available. Families with children can enjoy the park's playgrounds, which include a newly renovated area as of October 2019. The park also features picnic areas with tables and barbecues, making it an ideal spot for outdoor gatherings and events.
One of the newer additions to Poinsettia Community Park is the off-leash dog park, which opened in recent years. The dog park is divided into two sections: a 20,000-square-foot area for large dogs and a 7,700-square-foot area for small dogs. Each section is equipped with agility equipment, drinking fountains, and picnic tables.
The park offers walking and hiking trails for those looking to enjoy nature or get some exercise. For convenience, there are restroom facilities available throughout the park. A new parking lot with 37 spaces, including four EV charging stations, was recently added to accommodate visitors.
