About Willow Pass Community Park in Concord

Willow Pass Community Park is a 40-acre recreational area located north of Willow Pass Road at Olivera Road and Salvio Street in Concord, California. The park serves as the city's premier sports complex, offering a wide range of facilities for various activities.

At the center of the park stands a large community center, providing a focal point for gatherings and events. The park's extensive grounds include multiple sports fields and courts, catering to diverse athletic interests. Five softball fields host numerous tournaments and league play throughout the year, while four lighted tennis courts and fourteen lighted pickleball courts offer ample space for racquet sports enthusiasts.

The park features a batting cage concession that operates year-round, allowing baseball and softball players to practice their swings. For families with young children, Pixieland, an amusement area located at the north end of the park, offers child-sized rides including a scale model train that circles a lake and travels through a tunnel.

In November 2023, the park saw the addition of a new outdoor fitness area, the first of its kind in Concord. This 2,000-square-foot space is equipped with various KOMPAN brand equipment, including magnetic "bells" for weightlifting, stationary bikes with touch screens, suspension trainers, a multi-purpose net, and step/jump box platforms. Each piece of equipment features a QR code linking to usage instructions, making it accessible for users of all experience levels.

The park also boasts walking trails, picnic areas, and an outdoor amphitheater, providing spaces for relaxation and community events. A new crosswalk on Salvio Street, completed in late 2023, enhances safety and accessibility, connecting the north and south sides of the park.

Willow Pass Community Park is open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., offering residents and visitors alike a versatile space for sports, fitness, and leisure activities throughout the year.
