Moon Park

Moon Park, located in Costa Mesa, California, is a unique neighborhood park that commemorates the historic moon landing of July 20, 1969. The park's most distinctive feature is a 30-foot concrete dome designed to simulate the lunar surface, complete with various sized craters. This large, gray concrete structure allows visitors to experience a small taste of what it might be like to walk on the moon.

Spanning 1.7 acres, Moon Park is nestled within a residential area but offers easy access from the Santa Ana River Bike Trail. The park's proximity to the bike path makes it a popular spot for cyclists to take a break or relax in the shade. The location, while tucked away in a neighborhood, provides a balance of accessibility and seclusion.

Moon Park features two separate playground areas for children, offering a variety of play equipment including a tire swing and a fireman's pole. The park also includes several picnic tables scattered throughout, providing ideal spots for families and friends to gather and enjoy outdoor meals.
