Greenwood Park

Greenwood Park is a recently renovated recreational space located in the Mount Eden neighborhood of Hayward, California. The park underwent a significant upgrade in 2016 following a $2.38 million improvement project that was the culmination of over a decade of planning and community input.

Spanning approximately four acres, Greenwood Park offers a variety of features designed to cater to visitors of all ages. The renovation expanded the park's footprint and introduced new amenities while preserving existing mature trees, enhancing the overall landscape.

The park's design incorporates both active and passive recreational areas. For sports enthusiasts, there are two basketball courts available. Skateboarding aficionados can enjoy a dedicated skate plaza within the park grounds. Families with children will appreciate the large playground environment, which includes interactive elements such as musical instruments, a sandbox area, and a climbing wall.

Greenwood Park also emphasizes community gathering spaces. It features two shaded group picnic structures, providing ideal locations for social gatherings and outdoor meals. A perimeter walking loop path encircles the park, offering opportunities for exercise and leisurely strolls.

Accessibility and convenience were key considerations in the park's redesign. The renovation included the construction of a new restroom building to serve park visitors. Additionally, paved walkways throughout the park ensure ease of movement for all guests.
