Murdy Park

Murdy Park, located in Huntington Beach, California, is a 16.04-acre community park that offers a wide range of recreational facilities and activities for residents and visitors. Developed in August 1971 and designed by Richard Bigler and Associates, the park was dedicated on September 15, 1971, making it a long-standing fixture in the community.

The park is home to the Murdy Community Center, which provides various recreation opportunities and organizes several special events throughout the year. The center consists of four meeting rooms, a kitchen, and a studio, all of which are available for rent.

Murdy Park features a diverse array of sports facilities, including four lighted tennis courts, two lighted softball fields, and four lighted basketball courts. The park also boasts four synthetic bocce courts and a skate park, which holds the distinction of being the first skating facility ever built in Orange County.

For families with children, the park offers a jungle gym and playground equipment, including baby bucket swings, kid swings, monkey bars, and a fireman's pole. The playground area is set in sand, providing a safe surface for play.

The park's amenities extend beyond sports and play areas. It includes picnic facilities with four cooking grills that require charcoal (which visitors must bring) and four sinks with running water. There are also nearby restroom facilities and free parking in a paved lot next to the facility.

Murdy Park operates with a curfew from 10:00 pm to 5:00 am, ensuring a peaceful environment for the surrounding neighborhood during nighttime hours.
