The park features extensive grassy areas interspersed with trees, providing ample shade and open spaces for visitors to enjoy. A network of paved walking paths totaling over 5,000 feet winds through the park, allowing for pleasant strolls and exercise opportunities. These paths are illuminated, making them suitable for early morning or evening walks.
Woodland Park caters to sports enthusiasts with its multiple athletic facilities. The park includes a lighted baseball/softball field, which has an outfield fence extending 300 feet from home plate at its farthest point. For basketball players, there are four lighted courts available. Tennis enthusiasts can make use of the park's four tennis courts, while pickleball players have access to twelve dedicated courts.
Families with children will appreciate the park's two playgrounds. The larger playground, designed for ages 6-12, features two 20-foot-tall tube slides, a tower, a tall regular slide, a rock climbing wall, ladders, monkey bars, and various games. A smaller playground caters to younger children aged 2-5. Both play areas are equipped with wood chip surfaces for safety.
For those seeking relaxation or social gatherings, Woodland Park offers numerous picnic tables and barbecue facilities scattered throughout the grounds. The park also includes restroom facilities for visitor convenience.
Woodland Park is open daily from 6 AM to 10 PM on weekdays and from 6 AM to midnight on weekends. While the park does not have a dedicated parking lot, street parking is available along Rio Hondo Drive, Chantry Drive, and White Wood Circle.
