California Oaks Sports Park

California Oaks Sports Park is a 20-acre recreational facility located in Murrieta, California. The park serves as a hub for various sports activities and community events in the area.

The park features multiple sports fields and courts to accommodate different activities. It includes baseball fields, softball fields (both lit and unlit), soccer fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, and volleyball courts. A skate park is also available for skateboarding enthusiasts.

For aquatic activities, the park previously housed a swimming pool. However, as of August 2023, the City Council made the decision to permanently close the existing pool facility due to mechanical and structural issues. Plans are underway to redesign and reconstruct a new aquatics facility at the same location, though the project is temporarily on hold pending funding identification.

California Oaks Sports Park also offers amenities for more leisurely activities. It includes open grass areas, picnic tables, park benches, and barbecue facilities. The park is dotted with mature trees, providing shade and enhancing the natural beauty of the space. For families with young children, there is a playground area with tot lot equipment.

The park serves as a venue for various community events, including the city's annual founding day celebration and fireworks display. It is open from sunrise to sunset daily, unless a permit has been obtained for after-hours use.
