Alderwood Park is a neighborhood park located on the corner of Whitewood and Baxter Roads in Murrieta, California. Formerly known as Golden Cities Park, this public space is owned and maintained by the City of Murrieta. The park spans approximately seven acres, providing a variety of recreational opportunities for local residents.
Alderwood Park is divided into western and eastern sections, each offering distinct features. One of the park's notable amenities is its dog park, which includes separate areas for large and small dogs. The dog park features a combination of turf and decomposed granite surfaces, allowing pets to exercise and socialize safely off-leash. For the comfort of pet owners, shaded seating areas are provided, along with dog exercise equipment, an agility course, and pet waste stations.
The park also caters to sports enthusiasts with its pickleball courts. Two dedicated outdoor concrete courts are available, featuring permanent lines and nets. One court is available for rental, while the other operates on a first-come, first-served basis.
For families with children, Alderwood Park offers a large playground area. The park's perimeter features a cement path with body weight machines stationed along the route, providing opportunities for exercise and fitness.
Future development plans for Alderwood Park include the addition of tennis courts, an additional playground, and a recreation center as part of Phase 2.
