About Shaffer Park in Orange
Shaffer Park is a 7.32-acre community park located in Orange, California. The park underwent a significant renovation and reopened on April 13, 2019 with upgraded facilities and infrastructure.
The park features a lighted baseball/softball field with dugouts and an all-dirt infield. There is also a lighted football field without goal posts and a lighted soccer field without goals. For fitness enthusiasts, the park offers an outdoor exercise circuit with gym equipment suitable for full body circuit training.
A playground area provides recreation for children, with shaded play structures and wood chips on the ground. The playground includes features such as spring riders, monkey bars, and a balance beam.
For community gatherings, Shaffer Park has a community building with air conditioning, heating, and a kitchen that can accommodate up to 130 people. There is also a picnic pavilion that can host up to 75 people, along with covered picnic tables and BBQ stations throughout the park.
The park includes walking paths that meander around the grounds, adorned with water-wise landscaping. There are two walking path loops measuring 0.27 miles and 0.40 miles respectively.
Shaffer Park aims to be accessible to all visitors, with ADA access provided to various areas including the playground (referred to as the Tot Lot). The park also features amenities such as restrooms, drinking fountains, bicycle racks, and spectator bleachers.
