About Oxnard Beach Park in Oxnard

'olołkoy Beach Park, formerly known as Oxnard Beach Park, is a 62-acre recreational area located along the coast of Oxnard, California. The park was renamed in 2023 after the Chumash word for dolphin, honoring the original inhabitants of the land.

Situated between the Oxnard Shores neighborhood and Zachari Dunes on Mandalay Beach, 'olołkoy Beach Park offers visitors a blend of natural beauty and recreational facilities. The park features rolling lawns that extend towards the shoreline, providing ample space for various activities and relaxation.

A short walk through the dunes leads visitors to a wide, sandy beach with views of the Channel Islands National Park and Marine Sanctuary. The beach area is suitable for activities such as sunbathing, kayaking, fishing, body boarding, and surfing. The park's location along the Pacific Coast Bicycle Route makes it an excellent rest stop for traveling cyclists.

The park includes a covered group picnic area and is equipped with facilities to accommodate various recreational pursuits. Visitors can enjoy volleyball on the available courts or make use of the children's play area, which includes a pirate ship-themed jungle gym.

While the park is pleasant year-round, it tends to be most active during spring and summer. Despite increased popularity during these seasons, the park generally maintains ample parking availability.
