Los Amigos Park

Los Amigos Park is a 3.4-acre recreational area located in the southwest part of Rancho Cucamonga, California. The park was developed on previously vacant city-owned land along Madrone Avenue and opened to the public in 2017.

This community-designed park offers a variety of features catering to different interests and age groups. The park includes a skate spot designed for beginners, providing a safe space for novice skaters to practice their skills. For sports enthusiasts, there is a full-size basketball court where visitors can engage in friendly games or improve their techniques.

Los Amigos Park also promotes fitness and well-being with its outdoor exercise area, equipped with various fitness equipment for adults to maintain their physical health. Families with children can enjoy the shaded playground, which provides a comfortable space for kids to play even on warm days.

One of the unique features of the park is its water misters shaped like raccoons and coyotes, designed to help visitors stay cool during hot weather. The park also incorporates community art, including a tile project created by students from Los Amigos School, showcasing their interpretation of friendship.

In addition to active recreation areas, the park offers spaces for relaxation and gatherings. There are picnic areas where families and friends can come together for outdoor meals. The park's design also includes a pedestrian bridge, enhancing connectivity within the space.

Los Amigos Park has been recognized for its thoughtful design and community impact. In 2018, the City of Rancho Cucamonga received an award of excellence in park planning and development from the California Parks and Recreation Society for this project.
