Sheldon Park

Jack N. Sheldon Park is a public recreational space located in Sacramento, California. Situated along Orange Avenue, it serves as the southernmost point of several multi-use park and recreation facilities along Florin Mall Drive.

The park offers a variety of outdoor activities for visitors of all ages. It features sports facilities including baseball and soccer fields, as well as tennis courts. The tennis courts have recently undergone significant improvements, with plans for rebuilding all six courts, adding new foundations, and installing LED lighting.

In addition to sports amenities, Jack N. Sheldon Park includes a playground area for children. The park also provides a connection to the Florin Creek Trail, allowing visitors to enjoy extended walks or bike rides.

As of early 2024, the park is undergoing further enhancements. It has secured an $8.5 million grant from the California State Parks department for expansion and improvements. These upgrades include renovating the existing tennis courts, adding new lighting, and constructing a new playground. These developments aim to enhance the park's facilities and improve the recreational experience for community members.
