Swanston Park is a 10-acre public recreational area located in Sacramento, California. The park was dedicated on June 23, 1979, in memory of Charles Swanston, a prominent figure in Sacramento's cattle raising and ranching industry dating back to 1870.
The park serves as a multi-purpose community space, offering a variety of facilities for residents and visitors. It features the Swanston Community Center, a modern facility that hosts various events, including weddings, large parties, social gatherings, and small business meetings. The community center overlooks the park and includes an activity room that can accommodate up to 120 people for dining or 200 for assembly-style events.
One of the park's main attractions is the Swanston Splash Park, which operates during the summer months from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day. The splash park is free to the public and offers multiple water features and an exciting splash pad area, providing hours of fun for children and families.
Swanston Park is managed by the Mission Oaks Recreation & Park District, which maintains the grounds and oversees the various amenities and programs offered at the site.
