Vieira Park

Vieira Park is a small public park located in San Jose, California, specifically on Communications Hill. The park, dedicated in 2004, spans approximately 2 acres and offers visitors a serene outdoor space with panoramic views of the Santa Clara Valley and Santa Cruz Mountains.

The park is named after the Vieira family, a prominent Portuguese-American family of Azorean origin who have owned land on Communications Hill since 1896. This dedication commemorates four generations of the family's life in the area, from ranching to working in canneries, and later in construction and the high-tech industry.

Situated atop Communications Hill, Vieira Park provides an excellent vantage point for viewing the San Jose city lights in the evenings. The park is open from sunrise to an hour after sunset, making it accessible for both early morning activities and evening relaxation.
