About Zolezzi Park in San Jose
Zolezzi Park is a neighborhood park located in San Jose, California. This 2-acre green space serves as a local recreational area for residents of the surrounding community. The park was originally constructed as a developer turn-key project and later underwent improvements to better serve the needs of all neighborhood residents.
In 2006, Harris Design prepared construction documents and provided construction review services for the rehabilitation of Zolezzi Park. The upgrade aimed to provide a variety of amenities catering to different age groups, making it an intergenerational space. The park now features elements that appeal to seniors, adults, and children alike.
One of the notable additions to the park was the installation of five "wellness stations" that provide exercise equipment specifically tailored for older users. To accommodate seniors who regularly use the park for exercise, a new pathway was created, offering additional loop routes for walking.
For younger visitors, the park includes a half-court basketball court, providing opportunities for active recreation. The youngest park users can enjoy two play areas that were completely rebuilt with new equipment and surfacing during the renovation.
Zolezzi Park is generally described as a quiet and low-key area, making it suitable for leisurely activities such as taking walks or having picnics. Its serene atmosphere offers a peaceful escape from the bustle of city life.
The park is open from sunrise to one hour after sunset, allowing visitors to enjoy the outdoor space throughout the day.
