Martin Luther King Jr. Park is a vital community resource located in San Mateo, California. This genuine community park serves as a central meeting spot for special groups, luncheons, and community events. The park is home to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, which offers a wide range of programs and services for people of all ages.

One of the park's main attractions is its aquatic facilities. It features two swimming pools that are popular during hot summer days. The first pool is a 5-lane, 25-yard pool that ranges from 3 to 9 feet deep. The second is a smaller training pool, measuring 20 by 16 feet, with a depth ranging from 0 to 3.5 feet. These heated pools are accompanied by locker rooms with showers and lockers for visitors' convenience.

The park also boasts spacious outdoor areas. There is a large turfgrass playing field, which is one of the largest in the district. For those who enjoy picnicking, the park offers multiple picnic areas with tables and BBQ pits. Some of these picnic areas are available on a first-come, first-served basis, while others can be reserved for larger groups.

For children, the park includes a playground area conveniently located near the pool. The park also facilitates various youth activities, including programs run by the San Mateo Police Activities League (PAL) and drop-in basketball sessions.

It features a memorial grove dedicated to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., which was completed with community support and dedicated in 1993. The grove consists of a group of trees surrounding a grassy glade, along with a brick wall inscribed with donors' names.
