About Civic Center Park in Santa Clara
Civic Center Park is a three-acre urban oasis located on El Camino Real in Santa Clara, California, directly in front of the City Administration Offices (City Hall). The park serves as a central gathering space for the community and offers a serene environment within the bustling city.
The park is beautifully landscaped, featuring colorful flower beds that add vibrancy to the surroundings. The park also boasts several fountains, enhancing the peaceful ambiance with the soothing sound of flowing water.
A significant landmark within Civic Center Park is the Statue of Saint Clare, the city's namesake. This bronze statue, created by artist Anne Van Kleeck, was cast in Italy using the ancient "lost wax process" and installed in 1965. The statue stands atop a seven-foot pedestal, overlooking the city and surrounded by concrete planters filled with flowers and fountains. In the evening, lighting illuminates the statue and fountains, making it a visible attraction at all hours.
The park operates from 6:00 am until half an hour after sunset, providing ample time for visitors to enjoy its amenities throughout the day. Its central location and well-maintained grounds make it an ideal spot for local residents and workers to relax, have lunch, or take a peaceful stroll.
