Arroyo Verde Park

Arroyo Verde Park is a sprawling 132-acre natural preserve and recreational resource located in Ventura, California. The park features a diverse landscape, with 14 acres of tree-lined open grass areas nestled within relatively rugged terrain. Situated in a dried-up river valley, the park's entry gate can be found at the intersection of Ventura's Foothill and Day Roads.

The park offers visitors a variety of outdoor experiences, from easy strolls along the creek to more challenging hikes up into the hills. During spring, the park comes alive with an array of colorful wildflowers, some blooming up to three or four feet tall, and butterflies fluttering throughout the area. Several miles of hiking trails wind through the park, providing opportunities for exercise and exploration. One notable trail is the 3.5-mile-long Arroyo Verde Park Trail, while another path known as "The Wall" is renowned for its steep incline.

Arroyo Verde Park is not just for hikers and nature enthusiasts. It's a popular spot for families, offering multiple playgrounds for children, including a new inclusive play area opened in April 2022. This 10,750 square foot play area is Ventura's first fully inclusive playground, designed for youth of all abilities. It features a colorful play surface, new landscaping, gathering areas, swings, hammocks, balance beams, a sensory garden, a motion-inclusive carousel, embankment climbers, and music play areas.

The park is open daily from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, providing ample time for visitors to enjoy its amenities. While parking is free on weekdays, there is a nominal fee for parking on weekends and holidays.
