Carmody Park & Recreation Center

Carmody Park is a 31.4-acre public park located in Lakewood, Colorado. The park underwent significant renovations in 2017, which included the addition of Lakewood's first universal playground designed to be accessible for children of all ages and abilities.

The playground features innovative equipment that stimulates creative play and physical activity. It includes elements such as mounds, ramps, and structures that can be enjoyed by children with various capabilities. The design focuses on inclusivity, allowing children of all abilities to play together.

Adjacent to the playground, visitors will find a Fitness Zone. This area contains outdoor exercise equipment suitable for adults, strategically placed to allow parents to work out while supervising their children at the playground. The fitness equipment caters to users of different fitness levels and includes some wheelchair-accessible options.

The park also boasts several sports facilities, including play fields and courts for various activities. A pond surrounded by mature cottonwood trees adds to the park's natural beauty and serves as a habitat for local waterfowl.

For gatherings and events, Carmody Park offers reservable picnic shelters. These shelters are available for rent and provide a space for community members to host outdoor functions.

Year-round restroom facilities are available at the park, with the exception of a family restroom that closes seasonally. The park's trails provide opportunities for walking and jogging, allowing visitors to enjoy the outdoor space in multiple ways.
