Walker Park

Walker Park is a public recreational facility located in Hialeah, Florida. Spanning 8.3 acres, this community park offers a variety of amenities and activities for visitors of all ages.

The park features multiple sports facilities, including three lighted basketball courts and a baseball field designed for children aged 12 and under. For younger visitors, there is a children's playground and a wet tot-lot, providing safe and enjoyable spaces for play.

Walker Park is also home to a two-story community center, which houses various recreational programs and activities. The park includes a modern e-library furnished with several computers and hundreds of books, offering educational resources to the community.

One of the park's main attractions is its swimming pool, which provides a refreshing escape during hot Florida days. The park also features walking paths, allowing visitors to enjoy outdoor exercise and leisurely strolls.

Named after James Silas Walker, a former City councilman and community activist nicknamed "Pop," the park plays a significant role in local events. It serves as the venue for the City of Hialeah's Annual Jose Marti Parade, honoring the late Jose Marti and recognizing his influence on the Cuban community. Additionally, the park houses a monument dedicated to the Federation of Exiled Cuban Freemasons.
