About Brackridge Park in Jacksonville
Brackridge Park is located in southeast Jacksonville, Florida near the intersection of Hogan Road and Southside Boulevard. The park opened in 1974 on land that was previously used as a soil borrow pit and sanitary landfill.
Spanning 10.7 acres, Brackridge Park offers a variety of recreational amenities for visitors. The park's main features are its soccer fields, which replaced former baseball fields and tennis courts in 1992 as soccer grew in popularity. The Jacksonville Jaguars Soccer Club, founded in 1979, now manages much of the soccer complex through an agreement with the city.
In addition to the soccer facilities, Brackridge Park has a playground area for children. The playground equipment includes some unique features like umbrellas for shade and spinning structures that kids enjoy. There is also a multi-use field available for other activities.
The park provides basic amenities to support visitors, including parking, restrooms, picnic tables, and a concession stand. While not as expansive as some other Jacksonville parks, Brackridge Park serves as a community recreation space, particularly for youth soccer programs and families looking for a local playground.
