Jarboe Park is a beloved community recreational space located in Neptune Beach, Florida, just blocks away from the beach. The park features a small lake as its centerpiece, surrounded by various amenities and natural areas.
The park boasts two recently renovated playgrounds equipped with Kompan equipment, designed to promote children's physical, social-emotional, cognitive, and creative skills. One playground is more suitable for younger children, while the other includes larger equipment for older kids. Both playgrounds are mulched and relatively open, with a few shaded spots available.
For sports enthusiasts, Jarboe Park offers a variety of courts and recreational facilities. The park includes 8 pickleball courts and 2 tennis courts, all of which are lighted and available for open play from 7 AM to 9 PM. Additionally, there are basketball and volleyball courts for visitors to enjoy.
The park features a walking trail that encircles the lake, providing a pleasant route for exercise and leisurely strolls. Along the path, visitors can find two smaller pavilions that offer respite from the sun and views of the park's activities. These pavilions are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Jarboe Park is also home to some unique features, including a butterfly garden accessible through a green ivy archway. This area contains flowers and plants that attract various butterfly species, with hand-painted benches where visitors can sit and observe nature. The park also houses a community garden, though it's not open for public browsing. Community members can rent plots for a small fee, and the gardens are available for children's events, field trips, and tours.
At the heart of the park stands The Neptune House, a multi-purpose community building completed in October 2018. This 2,000 square foot facility is available for private rentals and can accommodate parties of up to 100 people.
Jarboe Park is open daily from 7 AM to 8 PM, providing ample time for community members and visitors to enjoy its diverse offerings throughout the day.
