About Patton Park in Jacksonville
Patton Park is a 120-acre public park located on Hodges Boulevard in Jacksonville, Florida. The park was established in 1993 when the Patton family donated the property to the City of Jacksonville. It is now owned by the city and leased to the First Coast Soccer Association.
The park primarily serves as a soccer complex, featuring twelve year-round soccer fields. In 2007, a football field was added near the park entrance, expanding its recreational offerings. The park includes paved parking areas to accommodate visitors.
Patton Park provides various amenities for community use, including enclosed concession stands, restroom facilities, and picnic areas with tables and shelters. The park also contains playground equipment for children.
As a major soccer facility in Jacksonville, Patton Park hosts youth soccer programs and has served as a practice facility for professional teams. It played an important role in the city's soccer community, with the late Randy Powell, known as "Mr. Patton Park", dedicating many years to maintaining the fields and supporting youth soccer programs at the park.
