Ribault River Preserve Expansion

The Ribault River Preserve is a 2.3-acre park located along the Ribault River in Northwest central Duval County, Jacksonville, Florida. This scenic natural area offers visitors the opportunity to experience the beauty of the river and its surrounding ecosystem. The preserve provides public access to the Ribault River, allowing for various recreational activities and environmental education opportunities.

Named after the 16th-century French explorer Jean Ribault, the Ribault River is a 6-mile-long tributary of the Trout River. The preserve offers a peaceful setting where visitors can observe local wildlife and plant species. The park features abundant grass beds that serve as critical nurseries for fish, making it an ideal spot for nature viewing and birdwatching.

Established with funds from the city of Jacksonville's Better Jacksonville Plan in 2002, the Ribault River Preserve was created to protect natural resources while providing recreational amenities for the community.
