About Athalie Range Park in Miami

Athalie Range Park is a public recreational space located in Miami, Florida. The park is named after M. Athalie Range, a trailblazing Bahamian American civil rights activist who was the first Black person to serve on the Miami City Commission.

The park serves as an outdoor leisure and recreation hub for the community. It features a variety of sports facilities and amenities for visitors to enjoy. The park is open to the general public and is actively used by community members throughout the week.

A new community center is being developed at Athalie Range Park to meet the needs of a wide spectrum of age groups. The building will include a multi-purpose room with a 160-person seating capacity, a fitness room, a computer lab, and several homework rooms. Adjacent to the new building, a plaza space is being designed with seating, exterior lighting, and landscaping to enhance outdoor activities such as community gatherings, evening movies, sports watching, performances, and leisure.

The park's hours of operation are 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM Monday through Friday, and 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. The park's aquatic facility operates seasonally, typically resuming operations in the summer months.
