Colonel Joe Kittinger Park

Colonel Joe Kittinger Park is a 5.3-acre urban park located on Crystal Lake Drive in Orlando, Florida. The park is named after Colonel Joe Kittinger, a celebrated U.S. Air Force pilot known for his contributions to aerospace research and his record-breaking high-altitude parachute jump in 1960.

The park serves as a tribute to Colonel Kittinger's legacy and the history of aviation. Its centerpiece is a refurbished F-4 Phantom aircraft, which was used to provide air support during the Vietnam War. This static display offers visitors a close-up view of military aviation history.

Situated near the Orlando Executive Airport, the park provides opportunities for plane watching, as visitors can observe aircraft taking off and landing. The park's location also makes it a convenient starting point for the Lake Underhill Path, a popular trail for walking, jogging, and cycling.

Originally dedicated on September 10, 1992, the park underwent renovations and was reopened on March 15, 2011. It now offers a blend of recreational amenities and historical interest, making it a unique destination for both aviation enthusiasts and families seeking outdoor activities.
