Downey Park is a 47-acre community park located in Union Park, Orlando, Florida. Operated by Orange County Parks and Recreation, the park offers a variety of recreational opportunities for local residents and visitors.
The park features a baseball and softball complex, which includes four baseball fields and one softball field. This complex serves as the home of the Union Park Little League, providing a space for youth sports activities and competitions.
One of the park's main attractions is its splash playground, also known as The Splash Pad. This water feature provides a refreshing escape during hot Florida days, with operating hours varying seasonally. From March to October, the splash pad is open daily from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., while from November to February, it operates from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Downey Park also boasts an inclusive playground designed for children with special abilities, ensuring that the park is accessible and enjoyable for all visitors. For those looking to stay active, the park offers a fitness area and sand volleyball courts.
