McNair Recreation Center is a public park located in Pompano Beach, Florida. The center features a newly constructed 6,000 square foot recreational clubhouse that houses a fitness center and yoga room. The park has undergone recent improvements to enhance its facilities and offerings for the community.
The exterior of the park includes a playground and exercise area for outdoor activities. Additionally, the existing basketball courts have been resurfaced to provide better playing conditions for visitors.
McNair Park was named in honor of Ronald E. McNair, one of the astronauts who tragically lost their lives in the 1986 Challenger shuttle explosion. This dedication adds historical significance to the recreational space.
The park's fitness center is accessible to the public, with both annual memberships and daily admission options available. As of January 2025, the center has implemented new fee structures for its services.
Operating hours for the recreation center vary throughout the week. The facility is open Monday through Thursday from 12 pm to 9 pm, Fridays from 8 am to 6 pm, and Saturdays from 8 am to 4 pm. The center is closed on Sundays.
