The FSU Lakefront Park & Retreat Center is a 73-acre recreational facility located on Lake Bradford, approximately 4 miles from Florida State University's main campus in Tallahassee, Florida. Formerly known as the FSU Reservation, this park provides outdoor recreation opportunities for FSU students, faculty, staff, and community members.
The park features 10 active acres situated on the shores of Lake Bradford, offering visitors access to water activities and land-based recreation. The facility includes a designated swimming area with a sandy beach, allowing guests to enjoy the lake under the supervision of lifeguards. Multiple watercraft options are available for exploring the lake, including kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards.
For those preferring land-based activities, the park offers amenities such as sand volleyball courts and a 9-hole disc golf course winding through the property. A recreation hall adjacent to the waterfront provides indoor games like table tennis. The park also houses a 40-foot climbing wall, which is part of the FSU Challenge Course and available for use during specific hours.
The FSU Lakefront Park & Retreat Center includes facilities for group events and meetings. Several outdoor pavilions with charcoal grills and picnic tables are available for reservation. Additionally, a multi-room Retreat Center can accommodate groups of up to 50 people for meetings or training sessions, offering amenities such as internet access and audio/visual equipment.
Access to the park is free for current FSU students with a valid FSUCard, while non-student visitors are subject to an admission fee. The facility operates with specific hours and follows certain policies to ensure safety and enjoyment for all visitors, including prohibitions on alcohol, pets, and personal motorized watercraft.
