Cuscaden Park

Cuscaden Park is a public recreational area located in the heart of Tampa, Florida. Spanning 8.6 acres, this urban park offers a variety of facilities and amenities for visitors of all ages. The park is situated in the V.M. Ybor neighborhood, providing a green space for local residents and visitors alike.

One of the park's most notable features is its historic swimming pool. Built in 1937 through the Works Progress Administration of President Franklin Roosevelt, the Cuscaden Park Pool is one of the few remaining Bintz pools in the country. The two-story red-brick facility houses lockers and classrooms on the first floor, with the pool itself on the upper level. The pool's unique design includes a promenade that offers views of the surrounding neighborhood.

The park has undergone several renovations over the years, including a major restoration of the pool in the early 2000s. However, it's worth noting that the pool has faced operational challenges in recent years due to maintenance issues.

Beyond the pool, Cuscaden Park offers various recreational facilities. The park includes sports fields, which have been converted from baseball diamonds to soccer fields over time. There's also a playground for children, providing a safe space for younger visitors to play and explore.
