Lake Lytal Park is a 70.4-acre public park located in West Palm Beach, Florida. The park offers a wide range of recreational facilities and amenities for visitors of all ages. It is open from sunrise to sunset, with lighted court facilities remaining open until 9:00 PM and lighted athletic fields (permit required) open until 10:00 PM.
The centerpiece of Lake Lytal Park is the Lake Lytal Family Aquatic Center, which features a 50-meter Olympic-sized swimming pool with 21 short-course lanes or 10 long-course lanes. The aquatic center also includes 1- and 3-meter diving boards, a children's wading pool, an interactive water playground, and a water slide with three flumes.
In addition to its aquatic facilities, Lake Lytal Park boasts numerous sports fields and courts. The park includes lighted multipurpose fields that can accommodate sports such as lacrosse, rugby, soccer, and football. There are also baseball fields, softball fields, basketball courts, and tennis courts, all of which are lighted for evening use.
For those interested in racquet sports, the park offers six lighted pickleball courts and four lighted racquetball/handball courts with full-length side walls. Fitness enthusiasts can take advantage of the park's fitness trail and exercise stations.
Lake Lytal Park also provides ample space for relaxation and family gatherings. There are picnic areas with grills and single tables, as well as a reservable group picnic pavilion. For younger visitors, the park features multiple playgrounds designed for different age groups.
The park is currently undergoing significant improvements and expansions. A partnership between Palm Beach County and the YMCA of the Palm Beaches will bring new facilities to the park, including a new community center, skate park, and an updated aquatic center. These developments are expected to enhance the park's offerings and appeal to an even wider range of visitors.
