About Brookfield Park in Augusta
Brookfield Park is a public recreational area located in Augusta, Georgia. Opened on November 14, 2003, this 6.5-acre park was developed as part of the SPLOST (Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax) Phase IV project with a cost of $1.2 million.
The park features a variety of amenities designed to cater to different age groups and interests. A notable feature is the 1/3 mile walking trail, which provides a convenient path for exercise and leisurely strolls. The park also includes an interactive display fountain at its entrance, adding a visually appealing and refreshing element to the space.
For golf enthusiasts, Brookfield Park offers a unique attraction in the form of a nine-hole artificial putting green. This feature allows visitors to practice their short game in a park setting. The park also accommodates various recreational activities with its picnic areas, playground, and a grass volleyball area.
To enhance visitor comfort, the park includes a comfort station and two gazebos, providing shelter and resting areas. The landscaping of the park contributes to its aesthetic appeal, creating a pleasant environment for visitors. For those arriving by car, the park offers paved parking for 40 vehicles.
While the first phase of development is complete, there are plans for a second phase that would add a community center and tennis courts to the park, further expanding its offerings to the local community.
