Franklin Park is a 3.04 acre neighborhood park located in the Central Bench area of Boise, Idaho, near the intersection of Franklin Road and Orchard Street. The park is situated on Hilton Street, on the site of the former Franklin Elementary School which was demolished in 2009.
Developed in phases since its acquisition by the City of Boise in 2013, Franklin Park offers a range of recreational facilities for residents. The park features a 0.25 mile paved walking path that winds through the grounds, providing opportunities for exercise and leisurely strolls. Open grassy areas offer space for informal sports and activities.
For families with children, the park includes a playground with equipment suitable for ages 2-12. The playground surface is made of bonded rubber, which provides accessibility for users with mobility devices. An outdoor gym area with fitness equipment is available for visitors aged 13 and above, promoting physical activity for teens and adults.
Franklin Park also incorporates elements for relaxation and social gatherings. Shelters are available for picnics or community events. During hot summer days, visitors can cool off using the park's mister poles, which can be activated by pressing buttons on the mister towers.
The park caters to various interests with amenities such as bocce courts, which are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Additionally, the layout of the park includes open play areas with maintained grass, suitable for a variety of recreational activities.
