Ravenswood Manor Park

Ravenswood Manor Park is a small but cherished green space located in the heart of the Ravenswood Manor neighborhood on Chicago's North Side. Spanning 0.83 acres, this park serves as a central gathering place for the community since its establishment in 1915.

Originally bisected by Eastwood Avenue, the park's layout changed significantly in 1990 when the street was closed and incorporated into the park space, effectively doubling its size. This expansion allowed for a more cohesive park design and increased usable area for residents.

The park features a mix of natural and recreational elements. Its landscape includes trees, shrubs, and open grassy areas, providing a green oasis within the urban setting. A notable feature is the pergola, which serves as a focal point for community events and adds architectural interest to the park.

Ravenswood Manor Park has evolved over the years to meet the needs of the community. In 1971, playground equipment was added to cater to younger visitors. The park underwent further improvements in 1989, including a major replanting effort to enhance its natural beauty. In 2015, the playground was renovated as part of Mayor Emanuel's Chicago Plays initiative, ensuring that the park continues to serve families with young children.
