Nowell Park

Nowell Park, located in Joliet, Illinois, is a multi-faceted recreational area that spans 20 acres. It combines outdoor amenities with a state-of-the-art recreation center, making it a hub of activity for residents and visitors of all ages. Historically, the park has served as an important community space since its establishment in the 1920s when Charles and Margaret Nowell donated the land. Over the years, it has evolved to meet the changing needs of the community, culminating in the opening of the Nowell Park Recreation Center in 2018, a 45,000-square-foot facility.

The outdoor areas of Nowell Park offer ample green spaces for picnicking and open play, baseball diamonds, tennis courts, and a splash pad for families to enjoy during warmer months.
