Coxhall Gardens

Coxhall Gardens is a meticulously designed 125-acre park located in Carmel, Indiana. Originally donated by Jesse and Beulah Cox in 1999, the park serves as a blend of natural beauty, modern landscaping, and historical significance. Its centerpiece features twin 90-foot bell towers which toll the hours, surrounded by a pristine environment that caters to visitors of all ages.

The park offers a wide range of attractions. The Children’s Garden is a standout feature, filled with interactive elements like an ABC learning garden, a quilt-inspired floral area, echo walls, peek-a-boo hills, and miniature village stores. For adults, quiet areas such as Campbell Crossing provide tranquil spots for relaxation, flanked by water on two sides. The Centerpiece amphitheater offers tiered lawn seating and a gazebo, making it a popular site for concerts, weddings, and other events. Another key highlight is the Coxhall Mansion, a historic structure inspired by the Governor’s Mansion in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Visitors can enjoy miles of paved trails for walking, running, or biking, as well as the recreation lake for fishing. The park also features a prairie wetland ecosystem, showcasing the area’s diverse plant and animal life. Additionally, educational opportunities abound with the addition of an outdoor classroom within the Children's Garden.

Coxhall Gardens is open daily from dawn to dusk and hosts a variety of seasonal events, from kite flying festivals to live concerts. It remains a free destination, offering both locals and tourists a serene place to connect with nature and community.
