Burdette Park is a municipally owned recreational facility located in Vanderburgh County, Indiana, just outside the city of Evansville. Spanning approximately 180 acres of rolling wooded hills, the park offers a scenic and tranquil environment ideal for patrons of all ages. Known for its blend of recreational and educational facilities, the park has been a beloved destination since its foundation in 1936.
The park features a wide array of activities. Its centerpiece, the Aquatic Center, is one of the largest swimming facilities in the Midwest, boasting an Olympic pool, waterslides, a diving pool, a children’s splash pad, and several pools with varying depths. Surrounding the aquatic center are picnic areas, charming wooded trails, and play spaces that cater to families and groups. For more active visitors, amenities include tennis courts, basketball courts, and a BMX track. Additionally, the USI-Burdette Trail, a three-mile paved path, connects the park to the University of Southern Indiana and offers opportunities for jogging, biking, and hiking while highlighting the area's natural beauty.
Burdette Park also provides options for extended stays and large gatherings, ranging from modern chalets to day shelters and pavilions, many of which are equipped with heating, air conditioning, and kitchen facilities.
